The Skinpen is a pen-shaped device and used to stimulate collagen and elastin production by creating small micro-injuries and breaking scar tissue. Also dubbed collagen induction therapy, this popular treatment encourages the generation of new skin cells, producing smoother, younger looking skin with no down time.Great for acne scar or scar tissue, fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, stretch marks, and overall skin rejuvenation.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's natural healing process, leading to the production of collagen and elastin, which helps improve the appearance of various skin concerns.

What skin concerns can microneedling address?

Microneedling is commonly used to address several skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, and overall skin rejuvenation. It can be performed on various parts of the body, including the face, neck, hands, and even stretch marks on the body.

Is microneedling painful?

During the procedure, a numbing cream is often applied to minimize discomfort. While some individuals may experience mild discomfort or a sensation similar to light pinpricks, the procedure is generally well-tolerated.

How long does a microneedling session take?

The duration of a microneedling session can vary depending on the area being treated and the specific needs of the patient. On average, a session can take approximately 30 to 60 minutes, including prepping the skin, numbing, and the actual microneedling procedure.

How many microneedling sessions are required for optimal results?

The number of sessions needed varies depending on individual goals and the specific skin concerns being addressed. Typically, a series of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart, is recommended for noticeable and long-lasting results. However, this can vary, and your skincare professional will assess your skin and provide a personalized treatment plan.

What is the downtime after microneedling?

After the procedure, some redness, mild swelling, and sensitivity in the treated area are normal. These effects are temporary and usually subside within a few days. The downtime can vary from person to person, but most individuals can resume their normal activities within 1 to 3 days following the treatment.
